Environment focussed SAI now out with my original soundtrack

Posted by | News & Blog | No Comments

For the past six months I have been working with a small, but incredibly talented indie game team based in Cornwall. SAI was another fun project to score the soundtrack for, with an environment focussed narrative. 80% of all revenue goes to conservation charities.  Head over to https://studiomutiny.itch.io/sai and check it out!

SAI is a third person action game exploring Celtic folklore and deforestation. Set in a magical forest, players will discover an environment damaged and destroyed by onslaughts of machines. These metallic creatures wreck their way through the land to get to the core of its magic, the Heart Tree. Though its presence is now but a lost memory, the machines remain, determined to find this all powerful entity. As a Druid, protector of the natural world, you must explore this beautiful realm, harness the power that still lingers here, and uncover its dark past. Stop the machines. Protect the land. Save the forest.

As an eco-conscious Indie Games Development Studio, we made SAI because we want to make a difference. We want to reawaken the love and respect for nature we are all capable of. Therefore, we will be donating 80% of all revenue to conservation charities.

Upcoming Planet of the Apes Game Music Talk in London.

Great to be able to announce that I have been invited to speak from a composers perspective at FOCUS – The Meeting Place for International Production event this December. Hosted at the Business Design Centre in Islington, I will be kickstarting the industry speaker presentations alongside the brilliant Gina Jackson.

Steven Coltart will discuss composing and implementing emotionally charged music for video games, with a focus on his cinematic ‘Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier’ soundtrack using Unreal Engine, and will also showcase current project ‘Just Breathe’. Supported by the UK Games Fund, ‘Just Breathe’ follows lead character Loki as he learns to navigate his anxiety and emotions through a gameplay based on mindfulness.
